ECAD Data for your PCB Design

ECAD libraries directly in the Schukat shop

Schukat provides developers and designers with high-quality ECAD data, including schematic symbols, PCB footprints and 3D models for numerous electronic components.

The data is provided via an established library solution in collaboration with SamacSys, a specialist provider of ECAD component libraries. This gives you standardised, consistent and directly usable design data for your development projects.

Setting up the Library Loader

The Library Loader is used for the automatic integration of ECAD data.

Installation: Download and install the free "Library Loader" software.
Launch: Open the Library Loader using the desktop shortcut.
Integration: Start your ECAD tool; the libraries will be automatically loaded.

Alternatively, you can click on the ECAD model symbol of a component on any of our product detail pages to insert it directly into your design. Once selected, schematic symbols, PCB footprints, and 3D models are immediately available. If a component does not have a symbol or footprint available when clicking the download icon, you can create it or request the component. Use the SamacSys wizard to generate both the schematic symbol and the PCB footprint. To request a component, please provide the required details, including your email address. SamacSys will contact you once their engineering team has completed the creation process.

What is ECAD data?

ECAD (Electronic Computer-Aided Design) refers to digital design data for the development of electronic assemblies and printed circuit boards.

Typical ECAD data includes:

Schematic symbols represent the electrical function of a component in the circuit diagram. They define pin designations, electrical properties and the logical interconnection in the system.
PCB footprints describe the physical placement of a component on the printed circuit board – including pad geometry, spacing and solder pads.
3D models enable mechanical testing and housing integration in conjunction with ECAD and MCAD systems.

Together, these three elements form the basis for an error-free transition from the schematic to the finished PCB layout.
