LED Drivers with Lifetime Indicator from Tridonic

We are expanding our Tridonic portfolio with the new Generation 4 constant current LED drivers featuring an integrated Lifetime Indicator. The LED drivers from the excite (EXC) and premium (PRE) series are designed for linear and area lighting applications in office and industrial environments.

Designed specifically for office luminaires, the dimmable LC drivers of the excite series feature NFC functionality, a slim 16 mm metal housing, and allow the output current to be adjusted in 1 mA increments. With efficiencies of up to 95 %, the drivers cover a power range from 25 W to 150 W while achieving significant energy savings thanks to their low standby power consumption. The portfolio is complemented by two fixed-output drivers in the excite series with 40 W and 60 W. Using NFC, the output current can be adjusted from 75 mA to 400 mA for the 40 W model and from 150 mA to 550 mA for the 60 W version.

For more demanding environments, the portfolio also includes three LCI premium drivers with non-SELV outputs. Available in 75 W, 105 W and 150 W versions, these models are designed for industrial applications in harsh environments with elevated ambient temperatures, such as warehouses and manufacturing facilities. They offer an extended operating temperature range of −40 °C to +80 °C, surge protection of up to 4 kV, efficiencies of up to 96 %, and are backed by an 8-year manufacturer's warranty.

All models comply with the EN 61347-1 and EN 61347-2-13 safety standards, feature an IP20 protection rating, and include protection against overtemperature, short circuit, overload and no-load operation. The nominal service life is up to 100,000 hours. However, the actual lifetime depends on the specific operating conditions of the luminaire. This is where the integrated Lifetime Indicator—available on the fourth generation of both the excite and premium series—provides a significant advantage. Using the 4service NFC App or the DALI interface via lighting control software on a PC, users can read Aging Rate and Driver Health data contactlessly via NFC, even while the driver is in operation. This enables the full service life of the LED drivers to be utilized, predictive maintenance to be planned more effectively, and luminaire components to be reused more sustainably.
