We now distribute the 3120-N thermal circuit breaker switches from ETA. These circuit breakers are ideal for overload protection of motors, pumps, transformers, and cables. They are used, among others, in medical and laboratory equipment, professional tools, household and garden appliances, office machines, audio devices, machine tools, as well as in apparatus and equipment engineering.

As a combination of on/off switch and overcurrent protection, the single- or two-pole circuit breakers offer a compact solution in one single component. With overload protection precisely matched to the load, avoiding unnecessary early tripping, they ensure maximum equipment availability. A thermal bimetal serves as the tripping element, which reacts to overload by heating and mechanically disconnecting the circuit. The positive trip-free mechanism guarantees reliable circuit separation, even if the actuator is blocked.

The 3120-N switches are also available with thermal-magnetic tripping, as switches (according to IEC/EN 61058), or in combination with a C14/C20 appliance inlet (cold appliance plug module). On request, they are also available without overcurrent protection or with additional short-circuit protection. They are rated for AC 240 V and DC 50 V, and on request for AC 415 V. The rated current range extends from 0.1 A to 20 A, and up to 30 A on request. The switches are suitable for use in ambient temperatures from –30°C to +60°C. Optionally, they feature push-in terminals for simple, quick, and long-term stable wiring. Functional expansion is also possible through undervoltage release, signal contact, or remote trip modules.

The circuit breakers are designed for a test voltage of AC 3,000 V in the actuation area. Between the poles of a two-pole switch, the dielectric strength is AC 1,500 V. They are certified with VDE, UL, CSA, CCC, and KC approvals.
