New in the portfolio: Switching regulators of the N78xx-2 series from Mean Well

We are adding the DC/DC switching regulators of the N78xx-2 series from Mean Well to our portfolio. Applications include electronic instruments, power supplies, and distributed circuit systems.

This series is an extension of the well-known 1-amp models N78xx and is fully pin-compatible with conventional linear voltage regulators 78xx and 79xx in TO-220 packages. This ensures a seamless direct replacement.

The efficiency reaches up to 96%. With natural convection cooling in a range of -40°C to +85°C, no external heatsink is required. This simplifies thermal management for system developers.
Three different form factors are available (THT, 90° THT, wire leads). Depending on the connection, the switching regulator offers the option of delivering either a positive or negative output voltage.
The N78xx-2 series complies with the BS EN/EN55032 radiation Class B standard without requiring additional components.

Protection features include short-circuit, overload, and over-temperature protection. The series is EAC/UKCA/CE safety certified and comes with a 3-year manufacturer’s warranty.
