Certified MSP-1600 Series Switching Power Supplies from MEAN WELL

The high-performance power supplies of the new MSP-1600 series from MEAN WELL are now available to order. The medically certified 1600 W power supplies expand the MSP product family and provide a reliable power solution for demanding applications in medical technology and industrial automation. They are also suitable for a wide range of other applications, including communication systems, measurement and test equipment, household appliances, and renewable energy systems.

Based on the proven NSP-1600 platform, the MSP-1600 series offers several enhancements thanks to its advanced design. The power supplies feature an extended operating temperature range from -40 °C to +85 °C and support full-load operation up to +50 °C. With an efficiency of up to 92%, a wide input voltage range of 85 to 264 VAC with PFC function, and a programmable output voltage from 15% to 115%, they provide a reliable solution for high-power applications. Integrated communication and control functions include CAN bus, remote ON/OFF, remote sense, a DC OK signal, and a 12 V auxiliary output. Comprehensive protection against short circuit, overload, overvoltage, and overtemperature ensures reliable operation. In addition, a conformal coating on the PCB increases resistance to demanding environmental conditions. Depending on the model, an integrated low-noise fan with a sound level of 39 to 43 dB(A) ensures efficient cooling.

With an extremely low leakage current of less than 500 µA and 2×MOPP, the MSP-1600 power supplies meet the requirements of the IEC/EN 60601-1 medical standard and are suitable for BF applications. They also comply with standards including IEC/EN 61558-1, IEC/EN 60335-1, IEC/EN 61010-1, as well as the SEMI F47 specification for semiconductor applications. The MSP-1600 series is designed for operation at altitudes of up to 5,000 m and meets the requirements of overvoltage category OVC III at altitudes of up to 2,000 m.
