New SCCA Coin Cell Supercapacitors from Schurter

Compact energy storage devices for high switching loads with fast charge and discharge capability and long service life

We are expanding our product portfolio with the SCCA coin cell supercapacitors from Schurter, available in six horizontally mounted versions. Compared to conventional batteries, these compact energy storage devices offer high power density, long service life, and fast charge and discharge cycles. This makes them ideal for applications requiring high switching loads. Typical applications include real-time clocks, memory backup systems, and emergency power supplies. In addition, the components are used in smart meters, medical devices, LED and alarm systems, as well as renewable energy applications.

Designed for rated voltages of up to 5.5 V, the coin cell supercapacitors cover a capacitance range from 100 mF to 1,500 mF. They are suitable for operating temperatures from -25 °C to +70 °C and can be stored at 0 °C to +60 °C with a maximum relative humidity of 70%. Tin-plated terminals enable wave soldering onto printed circuit boards. Thanks to their compact design, the supercapacitors weigh only 3.1 g to 8.4 g, depending on the version. In addition, their low leakage current contributes to high energy efficiency during operation.

The SCCA supercapacitors comply with CE and UKCA requirements and meet both the European RoHS Directive and China RoHS requirements. They are also REACH compliant.
