Panasonic ZVU Hybrid Capacitors
High Ripple Current and Low ESR for Demanding Applications

Electromechanics | 10.04.2026
Panasonic Industry Europe introduces the new ZVU series of hybrid capacitors, specifically designed for demanding applications in automotive, industrial, and communications infrastructure sectors. These conductive polymer hybrid aluminum electrolytic capacitors combine the advantages of both electrolyte and polymer technologies. As a result, they offer a high ripple current of 3.3 to 4.6 Arms—up to twice as high as comparable case sizes—as well as a very low ESR of up to 12 mΩ.
Another key advantage of the ZVU series is its high temperature resistance. The capacitors are designed for operation at temperatures up to 135 °C and achieve a lifetime of 4,000 hours at 125 °C or 135 °C. This makes them particularly suitable for applications with high thermal demands.
With capacitance values ranging from 56 µF to 560 µF, these components provide a compact solution for space-constrained PCB layouts. At the same time, they meet the requirements of the AEC-Q200 standard, making them suitable for automotive applications, including vibration-critical environments.
Typical application areas include:
- Automotive electronics
- DC/DC converters and inverters
- Industrial control and automation systems
- Communication infrastructure and base stations
In addition, the ZVU hybrid capacitors comply with RoHS and REACH environmental standards.
With the ZVU series, Panasonic offers a reliable solution for modern power supply designs that require high efficiency, compact size, and high robustness.
