New high-performance light guides of the EA DOGM and DOGL series from Display Visions

We are now expanding our portfolio with new high-performance light guides from the EA DOGM and DOGL graphic display family by Display Visions. They are available in several sizes and offer high brightness levels as well as exceptionally uniform backlighting. With a wide temperature range from −30 °C to +70 °C, they are particularly suitable for industrial, medical, and outdoor applications.

The cost-effective light-guiding elements were specifically developed for use with low-cost standard LEDs and support all colors, from white and yellow/green to RGB. Their optimized light guidance and transparent material ensure that even low-cost LED chips can achieve high brightness. Up to 2000 cd/m² can be achieved for white light and up to 1500 cd/m² for RGB versions, making the modules suitable for bright environments and applications with high contrast requirements.

A primary development goal was to achieve completely homogeneous light distribution without hotspots or darker areas. This is accomplished in all three compact versions (54 × 23 mm, 67 × 44 mm, and 54 × 39 mm) through precisely optimized light guide geometry as well as integrated diffuser and reflector films. The result is uniform backlighting across the entire surface, which is a key advantage for high-end applications in industrial or medical environmentThe light guides can be directly plugged onto the PCB, enabling tool-free installation. With a height of only 3 mm, highly compact display assemblies can be realized. Versions are available for three, four, or six LEDs.
