Features
  • The SM type uses a fusible alloy in a ceramic housing. Because ceramic is an insulator, the SM type can be mounted directly wherever temperature sensing is required.

This device is intended solely for use as a thermal switch. The thermal switch is designed to detect abnormal temperature increases and interrupt electrical circuits when necessary. It is not a fuse that dissipates overcurrent. If the thermal switch is used as a fuse, it may malfunction.

Application note
  • This device is not intended for use in aerospace installations, aircraft, nuclear reactor control systems, life support systems, engine controls, or safety-related equipment of means of transportation. It is intended for use in household appliances, office automation equipment, audio and video equipment, computer communication equipment, test and measurement equipment, personal electronic devices, and means of transportation (excluding engine controls). To achieve optimal performance of these thermal protection devices, please refer to the information in the 'Design' section on page 20 of the datasheet. This section describes points to consider during the design, installation, and storage of SEFUSE® thermal bridges.
