Features
  • • Self-resetting fuse element
    • Polymer PTC body, compact design
    • Low power dissipation due to low resistance during normal operation
    • The polymer-based PolySwitch is a self-resetting fuse element. Its operation is based on the PTC effect. During normal operation, the resistance of the PolySwitch is very low, resulting in minimal power losses. In the event of a fault, such as a short circuit or overcurrent, the resistance of this component increases, protecting the device. After the fault is cleared and the supply voltage is switched off, the PolySwitch quickly returns to its low-resistance state.

Application note
  • • These components are designed for protection against overcurrent and overtemperature.
    • Not for continuous, repetitive switching operations.
    • When handling products that come into contact with electrical voltage, the applicable VDE regulations must be observed.
