The Camtec HPV models are high-precision laboratory power supplies “Made in Germany”. These power supplies are designed for power supply systems intended for industrial use. Camtec Power Supplies has been manufacturing high-end switching power supplies in Germany for more than 25 years. A field failure rate of less than 0.004% over a 10-year period confirms our rigorous quality approach. Every Camtec product manufactured undergoes 100% testing of every individual function and a full-load burn-in test. Although not required by safety standards, our production department carries out a routine safety test on every unit manufactured, even if it is a low-voltage model. The components in the assembled unit undergo stress ageing to ensure a consistent level of performance and to prevent delayed failures. Our internal product development guidelines set a clear objective: the reputation of Camtec products must be ‘fit and forget’. For our team, quality is never just a promise. The design of the HPV series meets the demands of sophisticated applications such as complex drives, piezo print heads, test benches and professional mechanical engineering. The power supply offers low noise, precise load regulation and high efficiency of up to 93 per cent. High-quality, long-life capacitors guarantee an extended run-on time and an exceptional service life for the power supply. The circuit design is engineered for complex loads. The internal control loop prevents problematic operating conditions to protect your system from damage. The HPV series features active protection against high input transients using suppressor diodes, X2 capacitors and varistors. All inputs, outputs and functional connections are galvanically isolated. The design specifications are geared towards
enhanced immunity to interference and safety. The unit complies with the safety standards EN61010-1, EN61010-2-201, EN62368-1, EN60950-1 and EMC compliance in accordance with EN55032. The unit is resistant to continuous short circuits (ticker operation) with automatic restart. The HPV features internal temperature monitoring, which protects the unit from overload. As soon as the temperature drops to normal levels, the power supply restarts automatically (autostart). The start-up behaviour is controlled in all cases, and uncontrolled or excessive overshoot of the output voltage never occurs. A special heat dissipation design enables thermal coupling via a baseplate, should the customer so wish. A baseplate mount is available as an accessory. The units naturally operate independently even without this baseplate. The baseplate therefore has no influence on the derating behaviour of the units as specified in the data sheet.
